The "Pec" River Fest is a family fun event
involving activities, competitions, entertainment, food and refreshments.
Proceeds from this event will be used for site/launch improvements
at the Lena Community Park District's McConnell "Bobtown" Landing.
The McConnel "Bobtown" Landing will provide access to the Pecatonica
River for canoeing, kayaking, small watercraft, fishing, wildlife
viewing and other leisure family activities. This is the second
landing being developed by the Lena Community Park District.
The "Pec" River Fest will also share proceeds with the "Friends
of the Pecatonica River". This newly formed Not-for-Profit Foundation
is committed to the continual care of our river and the enrichment
of our Quality of Life.
The Rafters's Restaurant and Catering, Lena Community Park District
and Friends of the Pecatonica River Foundation invite you to
share a day of great family fun, food and entertainment on
August 16, 2008. There is a $2.00 cover charge for the band
and food tent area. This not-to-be missed event will be located
at the Rafters's Restaurant, 9426 W. Wagner Road (U.S. 20 & Stagecoach
Trail, Lena IL. This even will be held rain or shine with activities
being moved indoors if poor weather prevails. Activities begin
at 11:00 am.
